Betting tip: Both sides have improved recently and a point each seems reasonable.

Both sides have made themselves tough to beat of late and it's hard to pick a winner

The two sides clash at Stade Marcel Picot for this hotly contested derby.

Bet365 make Nancy 10/11 for this clash with Metz priced at 16/5. The draw is 5/2

Nancy remain in trouble at the bottom of the table and there is plenty of work to do in order to avoid an immediate return to the second tier. They have only lost once in the last six games in all competitions and there is cause for optimism.

The sole defeat came at top scorers and in-form Monaco, who hit 6 without reply in the province. Leonardo Jardim's side are currently Europe's highest goalscorers, so we can draw a line through that result.

Three clean sheets from four is a confidence booster coming into this match. Goalkeeper Guy N'Dy did sustain an injury in the goalless draw with Montpellier at the weekend, but looks to have recovered sufficiently ahead of this.

For all their security at the back, Nancy lack a goalscorer. 8 goals in 14 games is a very poor return although they've netted four times in their last three league games at home and hit Caen for four in the cup recently.

Metz are faring better than their rivals, sitting 11th in Ligue 1 and have been fairly consistent in their 14 games so far.

5 wins, 3 draws and 6 defeats isn't a bad return and they arrive here unbeaten in three.

Their away form is pretty solid with three wins from seven matches on the road so far. They've beaten Montpellier and Nantes, but perhaps their most impressive scalp was the 2-1 victory in Toulouse at the weekend.

Two of the three defeats away from home have been narrow losses to Rennes (few teams bring anything back from Roazhon Park), Marseille and a heavier defeat at Champions PSG.

They will fancy their chances of keeping out their low scoring opponents and are unbeaten in 12 of the last 13 matches against Nancy.

Tips:

Back the draw in this one at 5/2 with Bet365

Both sides have been fairly solid in recent weeks and will be hard to break down. 0-0 at 15/2 is a very distinct possibility whilst 1-1 at 11/2 with Bet365 is also tempting.

Take the short price of 4/6 for Under 2.5 Goals in this one.
