Betting tip: Marseille haven't quite adapted to new coach Rudi Garcia and may struggle against St Etienne.

Marseille will be aiming to make amends for a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Monaco last time out.

St Etienne picked up a rare away win at Angers at the weekend.

BETTING ODDS

Bet365 bookmaker make St Etienne 23/20 to win this with Marseille 13/5 for an away win.

Rudi Garcia appeared to be improving Marseille gradually. They were tightening up and results were becoming less erratic, but it's back to the drawing board after this weekend. Marseille were looking to keep things tight at Stade Louis II, but were blown away by a first half display from Monaco.

Leonardo Jardim's side simply had too much firepower and creativity and the visitors had little in response.

They continue to hover in the wrong half of the table and have collected just a single win in five games. That 1-0 home victory against Caen was a vital three points, but it hardly puts fear into the teams around them.

On a positive note, they have conceded the second fewest goals in the bottom half of the table, but they would have preferred to be challenging for the European spots.

With January around the corner, Garcia must recruit effectively and the first priority has got to be a prolific striker. They've netted just twice in five games and the likes of Bafetimbis Gomis and Florian Thauvin aren't scoring regularly enough.

St Etienne don't win many games away from home, but three points were picked up at Angers. The game needed a superb solo effect from Oussama Tannane to light it up. Tannane is a frustrating figure, but can be a matchwinner and if Les Verts can keep him in that kind of mood, he will be a real handful here.

Their home form has dropped off a little of late, but they have faced the top two here, so this will be an easier task.
