Monaco continue to lead the way in Ligue 1, three points clear of PSG. If it seems to have been that way for some time now, it’s because they’ve had identical results in the league for the last 12 matches.
Nice have slipped five points behind the leaders after their 2-2 draw with Caen, they are still 13 points ahead of Lyon in fourth though.
At the bottom Lorient remain six points from safety after their close defeat to PSG. Bastia also lost and Dijon jumped above Nancy and out of the relegation play-off place.
There’s a big match on Sunday as PSG take on in form Lyon in a game that could define the title race.
PSG have won the last five meetings between the sides at the Parc des Princes and they also won 2-1 in the reverse fixture in November.
Unai Emery’s team are unbeaten in their last 11 league games, having won their last three. They go into the match against a Lyon team also in good form.
Lyon have been in the goal scoring mood of late, they’ve netted 29 times in their last seven matches. That’s an average of 4.1 goals a game.
If Paris were to drop points then Monaco could capitalise, they play Caen earlier in the day. Leonardo Jardim’s side dumped Manchester City out of the Champions League on Wednesday and are still on for the quadruple.
They’ve won their last five games in all competitions and face a Caen side who have taken seven points from their last four games.
Patrice Garande’s side have performed quite well against Monaco in recent meetings, they’ve held them in two of their last three games but Monaco came out on top 2-1 back in December.
