There were 46 goals scored over the eight two-legged ties in the Europa League round of 16 including nine in the matches between Lyon and Roma, and Gent and Genk. We take a look at who has scored the most goals in the competition so far.

The two top scorers in the Europa League this season are now out of the competition as Edin Dzeko’s Roma lost 5-4 on aggregate to Lyon.

The Bosnian striker has eight goals in Europe this season and is level with Zenit St Petersburg’s Giuliano.

The Brazilian midfielder scored in all but two of his eight European matches, including a brace in a 3-1 win over Anderlecht in their second leg in the round of 32.

Third on the list is Athletic Bilbao’s Aduriz; the Spanish striker has seven goals in the Europa League, helped massively by the five he scored in the 5-3 win over Genk in the group stage.

He also scored in the first leg win over APOEL but missed the return leg through injury, missing the chance to add to his tally as Bilbao were knocked out.

The highest scorer remaining in the competition is Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede has five goals in Europe but has only scored in three of his nine games after scoring a hat-trick in the 3-0 win over Saint-Etienne.
