Betting tip: Novara have improved and could frustrate Chievo

Chievo's home form is decent with just two defeats so far this season

Only Juventus and AC Milan have won here in Verona so far.

Bet365 make Chievo 4/6 favourites for this with Novara 4/1 for victory.

Chievo are always a pretty solid proposition at home and proved that against Entella in the previous round of the competition. They ran out 3-0 winners against the Serie B side.

They've beaten Inter, Sassuolo and Cagliari here already, but have only kept two clean sheets here all campaign.

The Flying Donkey's were fairly unlucky not to take anything from a narrow away defeat in Turin at the weekend. Roberto Inglese halved the deficit and the visitors had a couple of penalty appeals waved away. Had the referee spotted the handball, Chievo would have had the chance to pick up a rare away point.

They haven't faced Novara here since 2011 when the sides played out a 2-2 draw. Prior to that, they met in this competition with Chievo running out 3-0 winners.

The Serie B side have been in poor form, but have picked up four points from a possible 6 in their last couple of away games.

That includes a victory over the leaders Hellas Verona, so they've already tasted success in this City in recent weeks.

They currently sit in 12th position and a 0-0 draw against 6th place Perugia can be seen as a positive result.

4/6 doesn't offer much value for Chievo backers in a game that will be far from straightforward. Instead, back Draw/Chievo on the HT/FT market.
