Genoa beat Juventus here, they shouldn't have any problems with Perugia

Genoa will need to make sure it's not a case of after the lord mayors show on Thursday evening.

Genoa were superb at the weekend and can add Juventus and AC Milan to their scalps here.

Serie A outfit Genoa surprised many on Sunday beating Juventus with ease. They were 3-0 up inside 29 minutes and in dreamland.

All the pre-match talk at the club was about the need to produce results on a more consistent basis and turn draws into wins - they did it in style against the leaders.

Juventus had their injury problems with Gonzalo Higuain not risked here, but the hosts had their selection issues too. Top scorer Leonardo Pavoletti was out alongside Lucas Orban and Miguel Veloso.

They still managed to turn the heat up on the Bianconeri who had no answer to their powerful first half display.

Genoa are very strong on their own patch and Stadio Luigi Ferraris has been a happy hunting ground so far this season. They haven't lost at home since the end of last season with sides routinely leaving with nothing to show for their 90 minutes of endeavour.

The injury to Pavoletti is unlikely to clear in time for this one, but Orban and Veloso are likely to be back after serving their suspensions.

They played on the counter attack at the weekend, but as the favourites here, they will have to wary of Perugia playing them at their own game.

The Serie B side have been in decent form recently and arrive unbeaten in five.

They drew 0-0 with Novara, who were knocked out of this competition on Tuesday at Chievo and had previously played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Ascoli.

They've won three of the last four away matches and have lost just once on the road.

They scraped past Carpi in the previous round to reach this stage and will hope to cause an upset. But, it won't be easy here.
