Want to know what happened in Matchday 28 in La Liga? We round up the key games from Saturday March 18.
Real Madrid went five points clear at the top of La Liga as they edge closer to their first league title since 2011/12.
Los Blancos won 2-1 away at Athletic Bilbao with goals from Karim Benzema and Casemiro either side of Aduriz’s equaliser.
Zinedine Zidane’s side went ahead after 25 minutes when Cristiano Ronaldo crossed for Benzema who was unmarked in the middle to finish.
But Bilbao came back in the second half just after the hour, a cross came in from the right which Raul García headed back across goal to the waiting Aduriz who headed in himself.
The lead didn’t last long as Casemiro was in acres of space at the back post from a corner to steady himself and finish.
Elsewhere, there was a win 1-0 win for Alaves over ten man Real Sociedad. Deyverson gave the hosts the lead just before half time before Esteban Granero was sent off for a second booking in the second half.
That result means Mauricio Pellegrino’s men move closer to Eibar and Espanyol who shared a 1-1 draw.
Jurado scored in the second half to cancel out Kike Garcia’s opener after 20 minutes.
