Tottenham Hotspur - better late than never as Daniel Levy finally acts in the summer transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur may have been the last Premier League side to start adding to their ranks this summer, but there's every chance that they could be the busiest club before the close of the transfer window.
The North London club finally got their transfer window underway in impressive fashion, with the purchase of Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez, and while Mauricio Pochettino's side have been linked with every player under the sun this summer there is no question that Tottenham’s transfer spending is far from done and that more signings are on their way to Spurs before the close of the transfer window.
Here, I try and dissect the latest transfer rumours that have been reported in the press in the last seven days.
Whilst a lot of the British press are claiming that Spurs have dropped their interest in Everton's Ross Barkley, due to an injury picked up in training last week, that really isn't the case.
Mauricio Pochettino is a massive fan of the England midfielder, and Tottenham's interest certainly remains. There are of course some obstacles, including; the extent of the player's injury picked up in training last week, but the biggest obstacle to the transfer still remains Everton's stance on the fee they expect to receive for the player. Expect Daniel Levy to try and work his 'magic' on this one before the close of the window.
This is a rather strange one to figure out. Last month I reported about Tottenham's interest in the young Argentine defender before Paris Saint-Germain came into the picture. Reports in Argentina this weekend claim that the player prefers a move to Spurs and that a deal is on the verge of being complete. The capture of the 19-year-old defender would certainly be a 'one for the future' signing and would perhaps signal Tottenham's intent to use Davinson Sanchez as a right-back IF need be, and stick with what they have in that position, with Foyth used as emergency defensive cover.

It's certainly my understanding that a bid for Fulham starlet was indeed placed last week, and whilst the West London side knocked back Tottenham's interest, Spurs are still actively pursuing a deal for the left-back before the close of the window and will certainly act if Fulham change their transfer stance on the player.
Does 2+2 = 4 or 5?
There has been a string of coincidental events surrounding Tottenham's and Manchester United's transfer tactics as of late.
First, Manchester United were linked with a move for Danny Rose - that interest was real. Then Danny Rose gave the shocking and surprising interview with The Sun in which the left-back indicated his desire to move back up North 'one day'. Following the interview, Spurs have shown strong and urgent interest in Ryan Sessegnon, and last week claims emerged that the North London side failed with a ridiculous £25m offer for Man United forward Anthony Martial. To add to all of that Jose Mourinho in his pre-match press conference on Friday suggested that United were in the market for someone who could play left wing-back before the close of the summer window.
Whilst I am unaware of any bid for Martial, it's no secret that Pochettino is a big admirer of the Frenchman, and whilst I don't see Anthony Martial moving to Tottenham this summer, there have been certain moves made by both sides which could be pure coincidence, or maybe, just maybe there's another big twist to come before the end of the summer transfer window.
