Andy Murray, the English number one, loses to Sam Querrey 3-2 at Wimbledon 2017. The world number one came into this match as the favourite and got the first set and break points and it looked like he was on his way to the semi-final of Wimbledon.
Especially in the 3rd, 4th and 5th sets, Murray's injury problem allowed Sam Querrey to capitalise and move on to the semi-final. The American stuck to his game plan and forced Murray to run up and down the court all match long which only aggravated the injured hip. This led the American to be able to beat a nowhere near 100% Andy Murray.
This match went through to five sets and if Murray could have won the second set perhaps we could have a different situation. Usually, Murray is able to bounce off the crowd's enthusiasm but this afternoon he couldn't do that at all.
In the end, Querrey won 3-6 6-4 6-7 6-2 6-1. The scoreline doesn't show the whole story.
